Small doll like figures called "poppets" are often used for magick.
These figures have been made of cloth, straw, moss or sticks.
These poppets are very present in voodoo magick for protection or revenge,
but it is the intent of the maker that determines the purpose of the magick,

Materials: A red candle (cut in half), a piece of paper, a red pen, salt,
3 bent nails, matches, a small cauldron or other heat-proof bowl.
While the moon is waning, write the name of the person
who is bothering you on the piece of paper.
Above it draw the sun, and below it draw the moon.
While visualizing the person, light the candle and sprinkle the salt around it in a circle.
After doing that, place the bent nails around the candle in a triangle shape.
Stare into the candle flame and say:
"Get thee gone (person's name) and cross not my path.
The bond is broken. You are freed and freely blessed."
Pick up the paper and keep visualizing yourself being free of this person.
Light the paper in the candle flame, place it in the cauldron, and let it burn.
Collect the ashes and sprinkle them somewhere that the person will walk.
