Peace and Love Ritual
Love and peace are powers greater than we can know, but we can tap into the energies that surround these concepts and bring them into the new week by anointing a rose quartz with gardenia oil today. As you anoint the stone, whisper “peace” and “love” to yourself, magnifying the energy in the stone. Carry the stone with you today and any day you desire peace and love. A few times each day, take a moment to slow and deepen your breathing. Holding the stone in your hand, inhale and say the word “peace” to yourself. Feel a peaceful sensation fill your body. As you exhale, think the word “love,” and see a loving pink light flow through you into the world. Repeat two more times each time you effect the spell. You will not regret it.

Lucky in Love Spell
Love spells can be fun. Start this one by calling on Ops, Fortuna, and Thoth for
good fortune in love. Since any love is a gamble, we will use gambling imagery
in this ritual. Wear your loudest, luckiest Las Vegas or Mardi Gras–style outfit.
Invite friends over for a “Casino Night,” and serve champagne, cheese, apples,
and nuts. Have party favors such as Mardi Gras beads or doubloons, and play cards
or roulette. Tell you guests that you are betting that you will be lucky in love.
Do not wager or accept any money during the games, even if others do. Ask your
guests to wish you luck when it comes to love in your life. Be aware what cards
you draw or what numbers come up on the wheel. Write them down. These will provide
clues to potential suitors. Good luck!

Love Divination Spell
In medieval calendars this was a day of love, when all nature found a mate. By the eighteenth
century this was called St. Valentine’s Day Eve, and was set aside as a time to divine the identity of a future love. Prophecies were sought by inducing dreams or by scrying. To see a possible future mate, try this spell. On a table, place your favorite scrying tool—a sphere, mirror, or bowl of water. Surround this with five dried bay leaves, placed so they will roughly represent the shape of a
pentagram. Inhale the scent of the leaves, relax, and say:
With these leaves of bay,
let me see the love coming my way.
Scry for about ten to fifteen minutes. When done, put the leaves in a love charm bag to use again.

Growing Your Love Spell
In order to bring an increasing flow of love your way, obtain seeds
(or purchase seedlings) for any plant you wish to grow, along with a small
flowerpot and some potting soil. Plant the seeds, or seedlings, and bless them.
Imagine that as they grow, so will the love in your life. Visualize yourself
giving and receiving love. Nurture the plants by ensuring they have enough
water and sunlight, and look upon them each day asa symbol of increasing
love in your life. Use words such as this for your visualization:

And as they do, let my loving nature increase.

Love’s Harmony Spell
Spring heralds the awakening urges of the Earth and all her inhabitants. The desire to love and to be loved is an innate need of our interdependent universe. Since love is both so all-desired and all-encompassing, one wonders why love is so difficult to draw into so many of our lives. One simple word can lend an insight: “intent.” Unlike our furry or leafy counterparts, humans generally have more on their minds than propagating their species. We want to bond. We want that love that is in balance and that works in harmony with us. At this time of universal seeking-for-love, place a mirror in front of you, allowing a view of your entire face. Place a small lighted pink candle between you and your mirror. Gaze into the mirror, seeing yourself as the perfect creation of the divine. State these words:
Mirror, mirror, my reflection be
the perfection of my body and soul,
the perfection of the goddess who created me.
I deserve the best
and will accept nothing less
than a love that’s in harmony.

Binding a New Love Spell
You can do this love binding spell using strands of hair or string
(hair is more powerful, but difficult to work with). If you use hair,
take a strand of your own and one from your love, and braid them together.
Chant both of your names as you work. If you use string, anoint each
piece with your personal scents first. Hold both strings together, and
tie a knot at one end while focusing and saying: “I bind this knot and
bind our love.” Then tie another knot saying: “I bind this knot and
bring [your love’s name] desire.” Continue tying knots and stating
the qualities you want to bind into your relationship. When you’ve
tied all the knots you want, wrap the cord around the base of a candle and light it.

Attracting Love Spell
To attract love, write down on a piece of paper all the qualities you seek in a mate. Place the list in a red glass jar along with some bird seed, the hair of a dog, and a rose quartz stone. If you are seeking a man, add lavender; if you are seeking a woman, add vetivert. Sprinkle rosemary in last while saying:
Mate of mine I’ve yet to know,
Seek me now and let love grow.
Seal the jar, and keep it near your bed. Recharge the spell on each Full Moon until you find your love.

Long-Distance Love Spell
If your beloved is traveling, or has moved, you can still send them love through this long distance spell. For this ritual, you’ll need access to a running stream, river, or an ocean. Any body of water that is fed by, or flows into, another source will do. If there is a body of water that runs near both of you, such as a river that flows through both of your towns, that is ideal. You’ll also need some rosemary, for remembrance. Take your rosemary to the water and call out to your love. Be sure to use his or her name. Then throw the herb into the current. As the river carries the rosemary away, visualize your message of love reaching your beloved.
