CyberMoon Book of Shadows Index
Blessing for Your Garden Herbs To bless your kitchen herbs, rise at dawn and then gather all of your herbs together on the kitchen counter. Hold your hands above them with your palms down, and then say: God and Goddess of the good Earth Bless these herbs with love and mirth And as their powers are released Let them flavor well each feast. ~~~~~~~~~~ Weed the Garden Ritual Time to weed the garden? With the Moon waning, you can weed and do magic at the same time. Start by thinking about what you want to get rid of in your life, and perhaps in the world. Then, go into your garden, equipped to weed with kneepads, hoe, fork, and the like. As you pull each weed, name it, and say these words: I remove hate, I remove poverty. I remove my anger at my boss. And so on. Be creative in your designs. Afterward, be sure to dispose of the weeds carefully. Either bag them and put them into the garbage immediately, knowing they are going away, or if you compost, ask the Earth to transform them as they rot. by: Magenta Griffith ~~~~~~~~~~ Full Bloom Spell Now summer is in full bloom. And wouldn’t you know it, fairies just love a flower garden! Their favorite plants include foxglove, bluebell, marigold, cowslip, snapdragon, and morning glory. You can attract them with ornaments that jingle or sparkle, too, such as wind chimes or suncatchers. Those big glass gazing balls are definite fairy magnets. All the better if your garden includes moving water, such as a fountain or sprinkler, and a place to hide, such as a ceramic “toad abode” or a rock pile. When you work outside, you can also sing: Now I’ve made a sacred space, Fairies welcome in this place. I won’t peek, and I won’t tell. You can stay here safe and well. by: Elizabeth Barrette ~~~~~~~~~~ Flower Omens of Spring The day you find the first flower of the season can be used as an omen: Monday means good fortune, Tuesday means greatest attempts will be successful, Wednesday means marriage, Thursday means warning of small profits, Friday means wealth, Saturday means misfortune, Sunday means excellent luck for weeks. ~~~~~~~~~~ Preparing for Blooms Spell January can be deceiving. On the surface, all may appear to be frozen in stillness. Under this quiet surface, however, a flurry of soil- nourishing activity is occurring. Such activity assures healthy growth in spring and the eventual bounty of the harvest. Focus now on your desires for personal growth and eventual harvest. Focus on the mental or emotional attributes that need to be nourished in order to sustain your growth. Sit in front of a mirror that reflects your face. Light candles and incense that are attuned to the attri-butes you desire, and place them between you and the mirror. As the incense and candles burn, visualize this attribute being nourished inside of you. Document how these attributes are nourishing you. Be aware of any changes that you see manifesting in your life. When you feel that your soil is nourished, seek your bounty. By: Karen Follett
